So about three weeks ago, while I was delivering pizza, a Ford Excursion (3 1/2 tons) ran into the driver's side door of my Hyundai Elantra (1500 lbs, soaking wet and loaded down with pizza). This is not a good match up. Ow. They tore the roof off to get me out since I was too unconscious to get meself out. Then they helicoptered me around the entire Northern Virginia area to find a damn brain specialist to look at me since my brain was bleeding. Anyway, so I spent 4 days in the hospital, 2 weeks at home, forbidden to do a damn thing but spend 4 hours a day on the phone with my insurance, the half dozen doctors I saw, the police, the 2 workman's comp companies after me, my bosses, my concerned friends and family, concerned pregnant ladies who worried I had died on their couch while they were at work, etc.

So they finally released me to go back to at least one of my jobs on Tuesday. So that's where I am.

"Almost two years ago I got a phone call from my agent, offering it. I was like, 'What is Preacher?' They were very vague. So I ask some of my friends, and they're like 'They offered you Jesse Custer? Preacher? Wow!' I got a couple of the graphic novels and I was captivated, it was some of the best writing that I'd ever read. I just found it an amazing piece of literature. Right now it's in development hell. When you have an independantly financed film, it's getting harder to get them made. We're gonna try to go this summer. I kind of wanted to wait another year so I could get more wrinkles and get even more weathered. If there was ever a role that I wanted to do some method acting, this would be it. My wife read every single one of the issues in two days, she was in love with 'em"
    -James Marsden (Cyclops)

You know something is good, as Preacher is, if a pretty boy like James Marsden wants to wrinkle and leatherize his face just to be in it.

They will screw it up. They always screw up things that are good.

On another note, people have been saying for a while that Colin Farrell should play Cassady. These self same people are retarded as hell for thinking that.

Irish = Black. Talks like a Mick? Good, he can play my mick vampire. Despite the fact that it JUST WOULD NOT WORK.

I don't know how I deal with this bizarre menagerie I currently live with.

In other news, I've decided I'm the best mediocre poker player in the world.

And why don't they ever offer Alan Cumming the good shit?

Edit: After all, he's delicious. Uber fruity. And nutritious. But this is probably why he's so sad.

CONSTANTINE (R, 121 minutes) -- Contains obscenity, violence and scenes from hell with dudes who are, like, seriously damned for all time and have no flesh on their bones. Area theaters.

Desson gave it what amounts to be a 3/4 thumb down. I trust Desson fairly well, so that looks to be about accurate. I'll still see it and probably enjoy it anyway.

I was at work this morning at 6:40 AM. I don't have any idea why it only took 45 minutes to get here.

When you live 35 miles from work in one of the biggest commuter cities on the planet, every day is a god damned crap shoot.

Thanks to all the well wishers.

I feel old because I had two freaking fingers of the purest non-cognac alcohol on the planet (12 year old Jameson's Irish Whiskey) and somehow or another still end up hung over (Slightly. Nothing water and Monster can't clear up.)

Why did I insanely agree to get up to go to work at 5:20 AM and not get home until approximately 9 PM on my god damn birthday?

The bizarre nature of my job: I essentially sit around and wait for shit to break. It is in my best interest for people to be stupid, incompetent, and careless because it means increased job security to me.

I did my occaisional anonymity check to make sure that people cannot find me. I am still entirely anonymous. Then I decided to check my screen name.

Excellent analogy of the day: "Claiming that the holes in evolution theory confirm intelligent design is like claiming that Columbus' misidentification of the West Indies means that the world really is flat after all."

Problem with this job: I get in at 7 AM and there is not a soul in the building. It's kind of creepy, actually, and forces me to find a way to occupy my time with no constructive way to truly do so.

I did not get to watch the game. Why? Because I was busy delivering pizza and such. I made $75, which is a tremendous night, to be honest.

I've noticed my entries are becoming steadily longer and more frequent. At this rate I may return to the freakish rate I was at in 2001 by the summer, a thought which probably scares me more than anything.

Watched Arturo Gatti last night. I think he's fantastic. One of his title defenses was at the Borgata when we were in Atlantic City last year and I kind of wanted to go. But you can't EVER get fight tickets the day of.

See, here's my problem: I have way too many interests to keep up on all of them. So, essentially, I keep up on none of them.

I'm seriously considering trying out some Gratis Networks stuff. I'm also considering trying to trick the shit out of them. Which may be a bad idea. Who knows?

I posted this in a NoVa community and no one cared that I have fucking insight. This is in regard to the death of the fake alternative station WHFS. If a radio station go it into its thick head that being unique can be a good idea, maybe this sort of thing wouldn't happen.

Well, when you finish #20 in the area, behind the talk station, the 2 country stations, the two top 40 stations, the CLASSICAL station, as well as your rival (101), and even Infinity bringing in their fastest rising star to program the damn thing and you still can't budge from non-profitability, you're screwed. Besides, they haven't done anything to distinguish themselves from the competition. HFS and DC101 are fairly indistinguishable other that their morning shows (and let's face it: Elliot vs. Junkies isn't really a choice at all)(Furthermore, what ever happened to morning talk shows anyhow? Where's the entertainment?).

This just isn't a rock area. When your major demos are not 18-30 but 30-55, rock won't sell. What sells are those boring jerk-offs at WASH and WARW and that idiotic station that has the stupid phrase "Classic Rock Without the Hard Rock" (Who ever heard of a god damn Classic rock station that refused to play half the Stones catalog and no Who or Zepplin?).

I assure you all, this will actually benefit 99.1 as a station. With hispanic population in this area expanding dramatically (especially in places like Annandale, Chantilly, Lorton, etc.), this will be a profitable move.

Why is there only one six hour (Ron and Fez and the Hideout) block of radio worthwhile in this entire metro area? I don't know. Probably because we're all idiots.
